The Washington Huskies took down the Oregon Ducks on Friday for a 2nd time this season, becoming Pac-12 Champions for the first time since 2018 and remaining undefeated at 13-0!

LAS VEGAS — As Dillon Johnson unleashed a guttural roar that followed a 5-yard score, woofs rained from the west side of Allegiant Stadium. No. 3 Washington (13-0) had surged to a 10-0 lead in the final Pac-12 championship game, leaving the west side woofing and the east side reeling.

College Football Playoffs

They have also clinched the #2 ranking in the college football playoffs, and will face the Texas Longhorns and former head coach Steve Sarkisian on January 1st in the Sugar Bowl!

Michigan, Washington, Texas, Alabama reach CFP

Michigan, Washington, Texas and Alabama will play in the College Football Playoff. Two-time defending national champion Georgia and unbeaten ACC champion Florida State were left out of the playoff.

Ty France resurgence in 2024?

Not much happening with the Mariners over the past week.. which leads us Mariners fans to think deep about scenarios with the players currently on the roster..

This week, Ty France reported to Driveline baseball.. Ty, as you would recall is coming off of the worst year of his career in 2023 with his OPS+ dropping 26% from the prior year (AVG declined 11%, SLG % declined by 19%). Ty was injured playing 1B back in June 2022 in a game against the Oakland A’s.

With the results JP Crawford saw last season.. it seems reasonable to imagine that Ty will have a bounce back season in 2024.

Why am I so excited? Well, typically during the Winter Meetings, the biggest free agents in the market (Ohtani, Bellinger, Snell, Yamamoto etc.) begin signing with their chosen teams, leading to the rest of the free agent market beginning to fall into place. We’ll also see the trade market heat up, likely involving the Mariners… Although, the Winter Meetings may be more tame for Mariners fans than we’d hope for.
